The Ready Experience

How does Ready work?

Ready delivers individualized on-demand care — wherever you are. Once you book a visit, we send a community-based Responder to you. The Responder will help evaluate your needs and provide care and facilitate a video consultation with a clinician. Clinicians will provide care just like you would experience at a traditional urgent care visit. They can answer any questions you have, talk to you about any test results at your visit, and fill a prescription if needed.

How do I book a Ready visit?

What do I do after I book a Ready visit?

Ready will send a Responder directly to you at your location, wherever you are. So you can relax comfortably and wait for us to get to you. Our Responders will communicate with you when they are en-route, so you’ll know when to expect them.

What happens during a Ready visit?

During your visit, the Responder will take your vitals, discuss the reason you booked your visit, and connect you with one of our clinicians for a video consultation.

Who are the providers who will treat me?

Responders: These are healthcare professionals who live in your community, most of whom have backgrounds as EMTs and paramedics. These local Responders are the people you will meet in person at your visit and who will be by your side for the entire process. Our Responders will check your vitals, help administer tests and perform in-person care. Ready teams are equipped with the tools needed to connect you with a clinician via a video chat.

Clinicians: Our dedicated team of clinicians includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and licensed clinical social workers. The Responder will connect you virtually with a clinician assigned specifically to you via an iPad. Ready clinicians provide a wide range of health care services including the diagnosis and management of urgent, chronic, and complex health problems, health promotion, and disease prevention.

What symptoms or conditions can Ready see me for?

Ready works the way a traditional urgent care provider does, except we come to you! We can provide care to children greater than 6 months of age through adults. Ready is prepared to treat a wide range of symptoms and conditions, including, but not limited to:

What if I don't see my medical need listed?

If you have additional medical needs, you can ask your clinician during your Ready visit to find out if Ready can help you. Either Ready will provide the required care, or we can recommend where you can find it.

Can Ready refill my prescriptions?

- Ready can refill prescriptions when medically appropriate. 
- Ready does not prescribe or refill narcotics.

Scheduling and wait times

What is a time slot and how does it work?

When you book a Ready visit you will receive a time slot. The time slot is the two-hour window of time during which your Responder is expected to arrive to begin the visit. Please note that this does not necessarily mean your visit will be complete by the end of the window.

What happens if my Responder is running late?

Sometimes unforeseen circumstances can delay your visit. A previous visit might run long, your Responder has to deal with traffic, etc. If you provided your cell phone number when you booked your visit, we will message you when your Responder is en route. If you need to reschedule, cancel or check the status of your visit, please call us at 866-603-7803.

What if I don’t see the time slot I prefer?

Our online booking will always have the most up-to-date availability. We encourage you to check our website periodically, in case there is a cancellation and a preferred time slot has become available.

COVID-19 testing

What type of COVID-19 test does Ready provide?

Ready uses the rapid antigen test* to perform COVID-19 screenings. Your results are provided during the visit on a pre-printed form with written information filled out and signed by your Responder. Once a sample is collected test results take about 15 minutes.

How much does a COVID-19 test cost?

For patients with COVID-19 symptoms, Ready will bill your insurance.  Most insurance plans, including traditional Medicare and Medicaid, cover these tests with $0 out-of-pocket costs for you.  Check with your plan to confirm coverage.  You may be responsible for the cost of additional services provided.

For patients who do not have COVID-19 symptoms, Ready charges a flat fee of $149.  We do not accept insurance for these tests.  This is because, in our experience, insurers will not cover testing costs for patients who are asymptomatic.

Can Ready provide me with an airline travel note?

Yes, we are happy to provide you with an airline travel note. The type of testing and documentation required for air travel may differ based on your travel destination, airline, and state requirements. We advise that you visit the CDC/TSA website as well as check with your travel provider and travel destination to confirm that our testing is accepted prior to scheduling or taking the test.

Do you provide PCR COVID-19 tests?

We do not currently provide the PCR COVID-19 test.

Cost and insurance

How much does a Ready visit cost?

A visit with Ready costs roughly the same as a walk-in urgent care appointment. You can reach out to your insurance provider directly for details on your coverage. The amount that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance plan. If you have a deductible, you will need to meet it before your insurance will cover any costs. If you do not have insurance or otherwise elect to pay out of pocket, the flat rate for a visit is $200.

How do I pay for a Ready visit?

Ready payment methods include credit, debit, health savings account (HSA) and flexible spending account (FSA).

Does Ready accept my insurance?

Ready confirms your insurance coverage when you schedule a visit online. As you book your appointment, you will enter your insurance information, and Ready will check to see if we accept your insurance.

*This test has been authorized by FDA under an EUA for use by authorized laboratories and has not been cleared or approved by FDA. This test has been authorized only for the detection of proteins from SARS-CoV-2, not for any other viruses or pathogens. This test is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of in vitro diagnostics for detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner.

The “cash price” for Ready’s COVID-19 diagnostic test is $149. This price applies only to group health plans or health insurers that are not contracted with Ready for COVID-19 tests. The price is valid only during the emergency period declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service Act. The foregoing information is provided solely to comply with Section 3202 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. No other use is intended or permitted.
